This kit builds an imposing model 18cm (8 inches) high, from 4 sheets of brass and stainless steel components. The finished model represents a member of the Jinyiwei – the famous Ming dynasty embroidered uniform guard, or “brocade-clad guard”, who were the emperor’s imperial secret police. The guard was founded 1368 to serve as the emperor’s bodyguards and in 1369 it became an imperial military body with the authority arrest, interrogate and punish anyone, including nobles and the emperor’s relatives! Every aspect of the guards’ distinctive red and golden-yellow uniform is faithfully replicated in this model, together with their special sword (dao). When completed, this is a stand-out display item for any collector or enthusiast.
