HMS Victory is a first-rate ship of the line of the British Royal Navy. During the American Revolutionary War in 1778, it took part in the Battle of Ushant, and in 1797, during the French Revolutionary Wars, it fought in the Battle of Cape St. Vincent, achieving a decisive victory over the Spanish Navy. Later, in 1805, it participated in the Battle of Trafalgar, where it became world-famous as Vice Admiral Nelson’s flagship and played a key role in crushing the combined French and Spanish fleets. HMS Victory is also the oldest surviving warship in the world.
