The Moon Palace is a palace on the moon in mythology where the Moon Goddess resides. It is a group of palaces which are connected to each other, and smoke and waves are entangled in it like a dream. According to legend, after Chang’e ate the elixir, because she was reluctant to give up Houyi, he lived in Moon Palace, which is a planet nearest to the earth. Every year on August 15th, Hou Yi makes mooncakes and places them in the northwest of the house. She call Moon Goddess’s name continuously, and the two will be reunited. Later, the story of “Moon Goddess Flying to the Moon” and “Houyi Making Cake” spread among the people.

This was a very enjoyable and nice build, it is rated 6/7 for difficulty and I agree with the rating. There are a number of very tricky pieces to make and install, repeated several times, as is the way with Chinese architecture. The other difficulty is how to hold it to install the other parts especially with my fat arthritic fingers but it is doable without causing damage to other parts of the model. The only thing I disliked about the build is the stand, it is not up to Piececool usual standard for fit. The tabs on the pieces are too long and stick out of the other side of the flat pieces which is a problem especially on the base. Also most of the joints are very slack so the whole thing wobbles. A couple of hours filing down the tabs and then gluing it together solved the problem I also used BluTack to fix the model to the stand to give it extra security. Over all though a very nice build and model.
