I really enjoyed making this model, having first seen it on the Hochanda TV show. It’s relatively straightforward to make, with very clear instructions. Some attention to the instructions is required on the very small parts – like the peacock’s feet – to ensure they are firmaly attached. The tab & slot construction system is really strong – this was a real surprise to me, but the finished model is very strong. Detail and colours are amazing, and the finished bird is on a bookshelf looking fab!

I like Peacocks so this was defiantly one I wanted to make. The metal is up to the usual Piececool standards, the paint is beautifully applied with no bleed or mixing of colours and protected by a good coat of lacquer. The instructions are clear and easy to follow although there are some tricky bits. The finished model is beautiful and liked by everyone who sees it. It is supposed to stand by itself and mine does do this but it is not very stable and fell over a few times. So I took the base off the stand of and screwed that to a piece of painted MDF, it is now very stable.
