HMS Hood was a Royal Navy battleship launched at the end of World War 1. She was in service until May 1941, when she and <a href=”https://piececool.world/product/hms-prince-of-wales/”>HMS Prince of Wales</a> were involved in the Battle of the Denmark Strait, where she was sunk by shells from the German ship <a href=”https://piececool.world/product/bismarck-battleship/”>Bismarck</a>. At 860 feet (262m) long, and 104 feet (31m) beam, HMS Hood displaced 47,430 tons and could achieve 30 knots at full speed. When she sank, only 3 crew of the complement of 1,418 survived.
